Retail Shop Associates

Location:          2017 South Neil Street, Suites 3 & 4, Champaign, IL 61820

Reports to:       Director of Retail Operations, Floor managers

Schedule:         Full-time, Part-time

POSITION OVERVIEW

Champaign Outdoors Shop Associates are our front-line brand ambassadors. Our brick and mortar sales floor is where the unique experience of Champaign Outdoors comes to life. Our floor staff is vital to delivering the knowledge and customer service that offers a distinctive shopping experience and drives sales results. These motivated and professional self-starters are responsible for assisting customers throughout their visit, from arrival to completed purchase. They create positive experiences for customers while providing expert guidance, in order to best meet their needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Creating a welcoming and comfortable environment, greeting customers, making a connection, asking questions, and listening to shoppers in order to effectively assist each individual with their unique needs

    • Utilizing product and feature knowledge to recommend, explain, and demonstrate merchandise to best meet each customer’s individual needs

    • Answering customers’ queries and concerns; helping resolve concerns or complaints 
      in a courteous, sincere, and professional manner

    • Making a lasting, positive impression on all customers, and representing the store in a positive manner

    • Succeed by remaining engaged, energetic, and high-performing through collaboration and teamwork

    • Maintaining highest level of product, and technical knowledge and utilizing training opportunities

    • Compliance with all policies, procedures, and sales support functions related to 
      POS systems and procedures

    • Maintaining awareness of current promotional events and sales

    • Keeping a sense of pride and ownership in store appearance by assisting with stocking, merchandising, and maintaining good housekeeping standards

    • Adhering to loss prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Sales acumen and prior retail experience preferred

    • Energy, enthusiasm, and dependability

    • Strong communication skills, and an ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of customers

    • Organizational skills and an ability to multi-task

    • Passion for the outdoors and/or experience in outdoor activities a plus.

Shipper/Picker

Location:          101 E Mercury Dr, Unit 12, Champaign, IL 61822

Reports to:       Director of Systems and Finance

Schedule:         Full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Shipper/Picker will assist in receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations. They will demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail at all times, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to function independently.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Picking, processing, and shipping internet orders in an orderly, timely manner

    • Maintains strict organization of outgoing packages

    • Completes receiving, transfers, and other inventory actions

    • Helps with general maintenance and upkeep of warehouse

    • Works closely with other picker/shippers and internet staff to accomplish daily work

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Prior work in warehouse setting preferred, but not necessary

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Basic understanding of computers

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs
