About the Event

Did you know Illinois recently got our first International Dark Sky Park? The CU Astronomical Society will be hosting a Starwatch with telescopes, a presentation, and some great information about the night sky on August 31st during the New Moon. Join us and other Flatlander Club members as we look out for planets, shooting stars, and a peek at the Milky Way. Only 30 miles away from CU, the Middle Fork Forest Preserve is one of the best places to gaze out at the stars.

We will meet in the Champaign Outdoors parking lot at 7:30pm to carpool to Middle Fork.

NOTICE: Attending this event with Champaign Outdoors is only available to Flatlanders Club members. For more information about the club and how to become a member, please visit champaignoutdoors.com/flatlanders.
