Outdoors E-Learning

These are strange times. With schools in the state of Illinois being cancelled due to COVID-19 safety concerns, many children are without their regularly-scheduled learning time. We know this puts a huge strain on parents and guardians as they try to navigate this situation.

It just so happens that our Marketing Manager, Katie, is a former teacher and has a degree in Elementary Education. So, while our store and schools are closed, she’ll be putting together lessons that will cover topics in the outdoors like the history of national parks and what makes our Illinois prairies so special. Activities will also be aligned with current state standards.

Each lesson will take students about 15-20 minutes to complete. They’ll be geared toward 3rd-5th graders, but of course kids of all ages (and kids at heart) are free to complete the activities and maybe learn a little something along the way!

At Champaign Outdoors, we want to do everything we can to make this extraordinary situation a little better and brighter. So we hope you and your student find these activities fun and engaging. Be sure to check back regularly for new lessons!
