As 2019 comes to a close, it's time to start setting goals for the New Year. Here are three ways you can make 2020 the best year yet!
1. Find Your Community
We all like to meet people with similar interests. If you love the outdoors, hiking, adventure, biking, and beer, then you'll love our Flatlanders Club. The Flatlanders Club is a social club devoted to all things adventure. The club is open to all individuals who want to get outside and play with other like minded outdoor adventurers.
We may be located in the flatlands, but that doesn't stop us from enjoying all of the outdoor recreation and hidden gems the Midwest has to offer! As a Flatlander, you'll join other club members on events planned exclusively for the Flatlanders Club. We will go on adventures near and far, as well as get together for social events and meetups.
2. Focus on Wellness
Wellness isn't just about working out or losing weight. Wellness combines physical health with mental and emotional health. One way to focus on wellness is to get outside more often. Spending more time in the outdoors has been proven to improve all-around health. Check out some of our local hiking and outdoor-related events.
We are super excited about an upcoming event that combines physical, mental, and emotional health into one! On January 4th, we are hosting a Mindful Hike with Kristina Reese from Hatha Yoga & Fitness. Mindfulness is the practice of noticing your surroundings in a way that helps relieve stress and tension. 3. Travel More Often
Traveling is a great way to expand horizons and view the world in a new way. Putting ourselves out there in a new situation teaches us all kinds of lessons that can be applied to every day life. At Champaign Outdoors, we are passionate about travel and exploring all the world has to offer. This year, we began our Adventure Travel Program for Champaign-Urbana locals to travel together to some truly amazing locations.
In 2020, we'll be heading to Croatia in May and Mt Kilimanjaro in August. Both trips combine adventure, activity, culture, food, and sight-seeing with small-group travel that will feel intimate and completely unique.
